Bronzing:
Bronzing is the mechanism of defence of the skin under the action of the
ultraviolet radiation, which results in a darkening of the skin, a general
or more local way. Thus one should not misuse it. It is the mélanine
which returns this color gilded. The protection offered by the skin vis-a-vis
to ultraviolet radiations is not perfect. Initially bronzing is a slow
process, the skin thus remains very vulnerable at the time of the first
hours of exposures.
Then, if the mélanine makes it possible to filter 90% of the UVB,
it almost does not filter the UVA which in the long run causes same the
effects as the UVB: wrinkles, premature ageing of the skin, appearance
of melanomists. Finally studies showed that each human being has with
the birth a capital sun which decreases throughout the life at the time
of the exposures to the ultraviolet radiation. Once this capital exhausted,
bronzing does not protect the skin any more.
